Granite Quartz Countertop by granitequartzzone.com
We try stay on time as much as possible but sometimes things arise at the job site that is beyond our control and may cause us to be at a job site longer than expected. If you are fine with us disposing the sink and faucet along with the tops they may still be attached to the countertops. When we leave your home the sink is fully installed on (or under) the countertop, but a plumber or the homeowner will have to re-connect faucets and drain lines the next day after all the adhesives and caulks have fully cured.
You can always use cleaners specifically formulated to help clean and protect stone surfaces as well. These variations are expected and are the source of its natural beauty. Some of the toughest stones are also quite cheap and some of the most expensive can be very fragile.
You will however be able to see and feel all granite seams.
We will vacuum up our mess, but do not wipe down the cabinetry. However, we recommend that you re-seal your granite counter top the day after installation because we do not know how long that sealer has been on the stone.
We do everything we can to minimize the dings but occasionally damage does occur to the sheetrock and paint. It comes to us from overseas like you see it in our yard and showroom.
We radius the bottom edge when we polish the edge to your edge selection, but we do not polish the under side of the slab. This warranty covers seam separation for one year from the date of installation. Eventually the sealer will start to wear off unevenly in high use areas causing the polish to appear inconsistent. Sudden or rapid change of temperature or sustained heating, especially near edges and cut outs, may create enough thermal expansion energy to cause your countertop to crack. Materials and/or services that have not been paid for in full.
Defects that were visible at the time of fabrication and were not avoided during fabrication. Seam appearance and performance, adhesives, caulk or other accessory items. Thermal shock can occur when a hot pan, dish or other receptacle or object is left on the countertop for more than a brief period. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. Ceramic disc valves provide a lifetime of smooth handle operation and drip-free performance.
We will do our best to call and let you know if that happens and that we may be arriving later than our expected window. Who disconnects my plumbing and electrical connections before you come to install my new tops?
Therefore, we can not disconnect your plumbing or electrical connections. Can you re-connect my electrical and plumbing connections?
Therefore, we can not make electrical or plumbing re-connections. Granite is harder than your knife blades and will dull them very quickly, if you use the countertop as a cutting surface. It is composed of various minerals and is susceptible to wide variations in color, texture, spotting, veining and cracking. Why is some granite more expensive than others and are the higher priced granites stronger?
More attractive stones are in higher demand and if they come from a distant land in small quantities the price will be higher. Also note that all natural stone contains small pits to varying degrees. Most granite installations will require at least one or more joints called seams. Additionally, our care in manufacturing ensures that edges fit together very tightly to help lessen the appearance of visible seams. Even though we have one guy drilling and another holding the vacuum it is impossible to catch all dust. Under-mount sinks are cut and polished at our shop and attached at the job site. Even though we do our best to lessen the dust it is the responsibility of the homeowner to remove any soft glide hardware or anything they fell the fine granite dust will damage. Your granite will be sealed prior to installation by the quarry.
You can purchase the water based sealer at any large box store. Is there a chance that my walls will be dinged during the installation of my counter tops?
Will the underside of my granite be smooth like the top?

We do not touch the top of the surface of the granite.
We do not touch the underside of the granite either. Although, in the over 1000 kitchen’s that have been installed over the years this has never been an issue. Because it is a natural stone, granite may have fissures which look like cracks; these pose no actual structural problems. Improper use or abuse including but not limited to, damage from mishandling of the product, damage from excessive heat or uneven exposure to weather conditions, physical or chemical abuse and damage from improper care and maintenance. Improper fabrication and/or installation is the sole responsibility of the fabricator and/or installer. Fabricators are required to perform a visual inspection of all materials prior to fabrication and again prior to installation. Creative use of the material such as thermal bending or curving.

Penny Countertop by domesticimperfection.com
They used “end snips” to do this, you can see them sitting next to the bowl in the picture below. So after about a week of working on it, we were back to an empty black countertop.
We just mixed according to instructions, poured, and spread with a putty knife.
We did get a ton of bubbles, so we went over it with the blow dryer to bring them to the surface.
We let it sit overnight and in the morning it looked glossy and perfect!
It didn’t self level, so it was super wavy and looked terrible. The box said you could get a satin finish by sanding and waxing so we decided to go for that and see if we could even things up. What a lot of work, but the results will be enjoyed for years and it’s certain to be a conversation piece. And if you still want copper flashing down the road and it’s more affordable, or maybe you find some for a deal, it looks like that part of it might be possible to change out. It’s great to hear about all the real grunt work that goes into something like this. Step two was painting the countertop black, since you were going to be able to see bits of it between the pennies.
You can’t try and force them either, because the pressure would just cause pennies elsewhere on the countertop to pop off like popcorn. The epoxy was self leveling, so we didn’t have to be too exact.
We noticed that the epoxy wasn’t quite deep enough and some of the pennies were still exposed a bit. Here it is sanded, you can see where it was still uneven after sanding. I like that the color is similar to our counters in a totally not similar sort of way. I have seen a few penny projects and this was a great space for it. How do you figure out how much epoxy to purchase to coat the entire counter?
We’re getting ready to redo our kitchen and have been talking about this idea for our island. Just wondering, though — what was the epoxy plan if you had been able to get the pennies to work on the sides?
You are going to save people countless hours of aggravation, me being one of them. Of course, free food would have enticed me to help you sort thru all those pennies too.

The slabs come in book-match, making it easier to match the seams. This is the reason your stone fabricator will fabricate and install your countertops without a seam. Silestone makes the most extreme colors, such as vivid green and, vivid red. Caesarstone is the only quartz producer that sells half slabs. It is not a stone by itself, but it is one of the minerals in the stone. They need to be sealed every year or so, and even sealing natural stones will not guarantee the stone will not stain.

Color blotches in granite and other natural stones make it difficult to have a consistent look throughout the kitchen counter-tops. Quartz companies produce as nice, maybe nicer colors for much less. Silestone is one of the first brands that started manufacturing quartz slabs. Cambria slabs are longer than the other brand’s slabs (132″ x 65 1/2″). Caesarstone slabs are either 120″ x 56 1/2″ or 130″ x 65″ based on the colors. All quartz brands use similar materials (93% quartz) and fabrication techniques.

How would installing natural stone surfaces increase the value of my home?
These are some main areas that are most likely not going to be replaced right away.On a street with multiple homes for sale, or even a geographical area, a home with a decorated kitchen and/or bathroom using natural stone and fairly new appliances will sell much quicker than a home that needs remodeling work. It is said that granite countertops have a lifespan of over 100 years. By asking this question, does it mean you will be cooking up some food?
Granite is safer and more sanitary than stainless steel, which is used in most commercial kitchens at restaurants. That does not mean it cannot be scratched, it just means that someone would have to try to scratch it to see any results. Is natural stone difficult to maintain and take care of?
Natural stone has come a long way since it was first used as decorative surfaces. When it comes to household surfaces, there are a large variety of products which are made specifically for natural stone. Either way, these products should be maintained on a regular basis to assure that your stone will remain in top shape to resist scratching and irregular wearing.
We recommend using a specially formulated product that is meant for use on natural stone or simply antibacterial soap and warm water for those times that you are out of stone cleaner. This is called hydrolysis, a process of chemical weathering due to acidic water. It may seem not much like a change, but it’s a noticeable and it makes a difference.

We guarantee to beat any granite quote from our service areas. With the technological advances and the cost of transportation and production, natural stone is more affordable than ever before. For the low cost and the high return on natural stone, it is becoming a staple in most homes. This is because those are the areas where people spend the most time. People who walk into a beautifully decorated kitchen automatically can imagine themselves having a dinner party or making a meal. Most of the time remodeling a kitchen or bathroom for re-sale can have a positive return for the seller. This ultimately makes your home a better buy and more desirable then the next one. Other than being the coolest house on your block, natural stone has many advantages that make it one of the worlds leading solid surfaces. Being used for construction, natural stone has a very elegant and natural look, unlike any other surface out there. Because of the most recent technology created to manufacture natural stone products, it has become more affordable than ever, and based on the durability, these products are built to last for many more years than most other surfaces. Under these unique conditions, natural stone can be seen in many different colors, patterns, and even shapes and sizes. Actually granite countertops are known to be one of the safer countertops when it comes to harboring bacteria. There are even products that can be purchased such as our sealer and impregnator which has been developed to offer anti-microbial protection for countertops sealed with this product. As a matter of fact, cutting foods on the counter surface directly, most likely will not scratch the stone, but rather dull the knife blade used for cutting. Not only is it manufactured to last, but there have been extremely successful studies on how to preserve and maintain natural stone. Some products are guaranteed to last a lifetime while others only last about one year. Natural stones need natural care, so stay away from any chemical that is not specifically recommended or formulated for that type of product. Anything that has a high percentage of acid, whether it’s from fruits or cleaning products, must be quickly wiped away. A mild and gentle soap will be more than enough to clean the surface.

Other of-the-moment counter options: concrete, bamboo, and stainless steel. Creams and whites remain hip, though black (particularly in popular-but-finicky soapstone) is also trendy. Check the customer reviews of countertop suppliers and installers for ratings of area outfits. Granite and natural stones are usually ineligible for such warranties. Manufactured quartz—formed from stone chips, resins, and pigments—is edging out natural stone materials in popularity, thanks in part to its durability and its availability in zillions of colors. Some people consider this weathered chic; others deem it shabby. Eased and beveled look more modern; rounded edges appear more traditional and are less prone to chipping. Thanks to improved technology, manmade materials like quartz and affordable laminates can mimic the look of hard-to-maintain marble and come in zillions of patterns and colors. Once you’ve made all these countertop calls, shop for the best price. Of course, quality of fabrication and installation is at least as important as price. Also check with friends, ask to see examples of a company’s recent installations, and note how closely a company’s staff listens to you and how carefully they measure. Do they cover repairing or replacing counters if they stain, chip, or crack?
Most vendors can have your new countertops cut and installed within a week to 10 days, unless your material is out of stock.
Lots of homeowners who buy new kitchens don’t have fond memories of the experience (to put it mildly).
We also offer advice on selecting cabinets, plus ratings of local suppliers. Companies were provided drawings, measurements, and additional specifications and instructions.

This makes it the focal point of the space, and more reason to ensure they look amazing. But finding a quality countertop for your kitchen or bathroom isn’t so simple. If your knives are slicing the surface of the counter, leaving behind unsightly scratches, then this is an issue. So why not upgrade the counters with a material that isn’t easily scratched?
Granite stone is chosen because it is very hard and very tough. It comes in an array of color options, so you can match your counters with the rest of your kitchen or bathroom. This stone isn’t as hard as granite or quartz, but it does come with a perk. Some homeowners like this idea because it’s a way to make the countertop unique to their home. However, it’s made up of resins and pigments, which give the quartz a tougher surface and vast color options.
Your countertop should be replaced with a quality material that will last a very long time.

And the top way to update these rooms is with brand new countertops. When you first walk into a kitchen or bathroom, the first thing you notice is the countertops. After all, you don’t want counters that are going to turn off your visitors. If they aren’t, then you will likely struggle with performing daily tasks, such as baking and prepping foods. Soon, you will have a counter filled with scratches, which will detract from the beauty of your kitchen. Three options that are quite popular include granite, quartz and marble. If you opt for a stone, you can ensure your counters aren’t burned. They are easy to keep clean, given they don’t have pores that easily absorb messes from spills. It continues to be the optimal choice for upgrading a kitchen or bathroom. These traits enable it to withstand scratches, heat and stains. This is always good news for homeowners who are looking for new counters.
