The imitation granite top counter didn’t have the “authentic look of granite” as clearly described and shown on their web site. I had explained to her from the start that this was going to go over our washing machine and dryer. The morning of, the installers called me to tell me they were on their way. They ended up being able to cut out a portion of the cabinet (without damaging the cabinet) so the sink could fit properly. They gave excellent customer service and were friendly the whole time.I would absolutely recommend them for your countertop purchase and installation.
They had a selection we really liked and their estimate was less than any other place but included install and old counter removal where the other bids we got did not.
We were on a deadline because my husband had to go back to work and they were able to meet our deadline. My husband brought our dog in with him when he went to check out samples and the ladies in the front office were smitten. Their crews came out to measure my kitchen and nearly a week later returned to install the new laminate countertops. On top of that, their customer service was personable and so much better than the others.

I read the reviews and thought that they must have been fake since they were all so good. I just can’t put into words the difference it made in our kitchen. Anthony also came back out to cut out a space for my slide in range as it was not here when the counter tops were installed. My wife had been driving me nuts about getting new countertops.
Our most recent experience was the exact opposite of our precedent expectations. Instead there was a very visible black line which made the counter look like an old fashioned formica. Haynes doesn’t believe in working with his clients nor does he care to retain them unless they purchase thousands of countertops from him – that is exactly what he said. I wanted to maximize the space on top by putting a countertop across it. I sent the measurements, and rather than just take them and proceed, she questioned whether or not it was accurate. But the depth of the nook into which the counter was going to go is only about 1/3 the depth of the machines. Everything was fine, and my (perceived) issue was just due to my inexperience with countertops.
The cutout in the back fits perfectly around the water supply and electrical outlet. Gary was phenomenal to work with from the inception of the project. I appreciated his honesty and he even talked me out of a more expensive option which was a first for me. Countertops came in early by a few days and we scheduled installation. Not only did they meet it but they were friendly about it and very happy to accommodate. Then when he called they remembered him and asked all about our doggie. The installation guys were in and out in under 2 hours and the finished product looks great!
We would use again should we decide to do a bathroom remodel. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the pricing straightforward. She was very patient and answered all my questions about the timeline and sequence of events leading up to installation. They were very professional, friendly and easy to work with. Gary says that the people who actually use them leave the good reviews and the people who don’t leave the bad ones. They turned out beautifully and the whole process was easy and on time.
I sent them a detailed drawing created by a professional architect. The installers even helped my plumber set the sink in and supplied the silicone that goes around the sink.

Granite by en.wikipedia.org
Latin granum , a grain, in reference to the coarse-grained structure of such a holocrystalline rock. The term “granitic” means granite-like and is applied to granite and a group of intrusive igneous rocks with similar textures and slight variations in composition and origin.

Occasionally some individual crystals (phenocrysts) are larger than the groundmass, in which case the texture is known as porphyritic. Petrographic examination is required for identification of specific types of granitoids. Granite has poor primary permeability overall, but strong secondary permeability through cracks and fractures if they are present. True granite (according to modern petrologic convention) contains both plagioclase and alkali feldspars. A granite containing both muscovite and biotite micas is called a binary or two-mica granite. Granite often occurs as relatively small, less than 100 km2 stock masses (stocks) and in batholiths that are often associated with orogenic mountain ranges. Traditionally, magmatic minerals are crystallized from the melts that have completely separated from their parental rocks and thus are highly evolved because of igneous differentiation. There are also peritectic and residual minerals in granitic magmas. In either case, magmas will evolve to the eutectic for crystallization upon cooling. Nevertheless, the composition of anatectic melts may change toward the magmatic melts through high-degree fractional crystallization. This process operates regardless of the origin of parental magmas to granites, and regardless of their chemistry. The final texture and composition of a granite are generally distinctive as to its parental rock. It is on this basis that the modern “alphabet” classification schemes are based. Both types are produced by partial melting of crustal rocks, either metaigneous rocks or metasedimentary rocks. Although the fractional crystallisation of basaltic melts can yield small amounts of granites, such granites must occur together with large amounts of basaltic rocks. These granites are produced by partial melting of refractory lithology such as granulites in the lower continental crust at high thermal gradients. However, the big difference in rheology between mafic and felsic magmas makes this process hardly happening in nature.

On the other hand, granitic melts can be produced in place through the partial melting of metamorphic rocks by extracting melt-mobile elements such as potassium and silicon into the melts but leaving others such as calcium and iron in granulite residues. In nature, metamorphic rocks may undergo partial melting to transform into migmatites through peritectic reactions, with anatectic melts to crystallize as leucosomes. After the extraction of anatectic melts, the migmatites become a kind of granulites. The production of granite at crustal depths requires high heat flow, which cannot be provided by heat production elements in the crust. In-situ granitisation by the extreme metamorphism is possible if crustal rocks would be heated by the asthenospheric mantle in rifting orogens, where collision-thickened orogenic lithosphere is thinned at first and then underwent extensional tectonism for active rifting. There is a lack of field evidence for any proposed mechanisms, so hypotheses are predominantly based upon experimental data. The basic idea is that magma will rise through the crust as a single mass through buoyancy. Rocks there do not deform so easily: for magma to rise as a pluton it would expend far too much energy in heating wall rocks, thus cooling and solidifying before reaching higher levels within the crust. Magma rises instead in small channels along self-propagating dykes which form along new or pre-existing fracture or fault systems and networks of active shear zones. Chemical weathering of granite occurs when dilute carbonic acid, and other acids present in rain and soil waters, alter feldspar in a process called hydrolysis. An end product of granite weathering is grus, which is often made up of coarse-grained fragments of disintegrated granite. Potassium-40 is a radioactive isotope of weak emission, and a constituent of alkali feldspar, which in turn is a common component of granitic rocks, more abundant in alkali feldspar granite and syenites. Conway granite has been noted for its relatively high thorium concentration of 56±6 ppm.Granite is a hard stone and requires skill to carve by hand. Modern methods of carving include using computer-controlled rotary bits and sandblasting over a rubber stencil. The stone known as “black granite” is usually gabbro, which has a completely different chemical composition. Strictly speaking, granite is an igneous rock with between 20% and 60% quartz by volume, and at least 35% of the total feldspar consisting of alkali feldspar, although commonly the term “granite” is used to refer to a wider range of coarse-grained igneous rocks containing quartz and feldspar. Granitoid is a general, descriptive field term for lighter-colored, coarse-grained igneous rocks. The extrusive igneous rock equivalent of granite is rhyolite. These properties have made granite a widespread construction stone throughout human history. When a granitoid is devoid or nearly devoid of plagioclase, the rock is referred to as alkali feldspar granite. Small dikes of granitic composition called aplites are often associated with the margins of granitic intrusions. They are crystallized from felsic melts which are less dense than mafic rocks and thus tend to ascend toward the surface. If a granite has a slowly cooling process, it has the potential to form larger crystals. Peritectic minerals are generated through peritectic reactions, whereas residual minerals are inherited from parental rocks. Anatectic melts are also produced by peritectic reactions, but they are much less evolved than magmatic melts because they have not separated from their parental rocks. For instance, a granite that is derived from partial melting of metasedimentary rocks may have more alkali feldspar, whereas a granite derived from partial melting of metaigneous rocks may be richer in plagioclase. However, this proposal has been rejected by studies of experimental petrology, which demonstrate that partial melting of mantle periditite cannot produce granitic melts in any case. They show a peculiar mineralogy and geochemistry, with particularly high silicon and potassium at the expense of calcium and magnesium. After more than 50 years of studies, it becomes clear that granitic magmas have separated from their sources and experienced fractional crystallization during their ascent toward the surface. Once a metamorphic rock is melted, it becomes a kind of migmatites which are composed of leucosome and melanosome. As soon as the anatectic melts have separated from their sources and highly evolved through fractional crystallization during their ascent toward the surface, they become the magmatic melts and minerals of granitic composition.

In all cases, the partial melting of solid rocks requires high temperatures, and also water or other volatiles which act as a catalyst by lowering the solidus temperature of these rocks. Furthermore, high heat flow is necessary to produce granulite facies metamorphic rocks in orogens, indicating extreme metamorphism at high thermal gradients. This is entirely feasible in the warm, ductile lower crust where rocks are easily deformed, but runs into problems in the upper crust which is far colder and more brittle. Fracture propagation is the mechanism preferred by many geologists as it largely eliminates the major problems of moving a huge mass of magma through cold brittle crust. As these narrow conduits open, the first magma to enter solidifies and provides a form of insulation for later magma. Within two hundred years, the red granite has drastically deteriorated in the damp and polluted air there. Feldspars also weather slowly in cool climes, allowing sand to dominate the fine-earth fraction. Some granites contain around 10 to 20 parts per million (ppm) of uranium. Cellars and basements built into soils over granite can become a trap for radon gas,[citation needed ] which is formed by the decay of uranium. There is some concern that some granite sold as countertops or building material may be hazardous to health. Leaving the letters, numbers, and emblems exposed on the stone, the blaster can create virtually any kind of artwork or epitaph.

I was given a two hour window, after being 20 minutes late, we got a call saying he was on the way. He went on to tell me about the great reviews the company had and the warranty. I decided to comment after reading most of the posts that poped up, and in the past have billed coustomers 75 per hr and have made a living thust far.
We are going to call them to let them know the plumber was a rip off and we were so disappointed. Plumber came in and pulled out existing piping and roughed in for new shower. Plumber spent an hour at my house: looked in sink and toilet, went up to the roof twice to check the plumbing stack, and conferred on the phone with another plumber for advice. Not only is that the most honest way to charge but they are local folk just trying to put food on the table for kids who go to the same school as yours. I was overcharged and given an invoiced that was vague for time job took. Took old valve from copper line (after turning off water at street) and replaced with new valve. So, if you answered “no” to any or all of these questions, now you know why plumbers charge the amount they do at times. He has to have liability, vehicle, health and workers compensation insurance. He has to have a shop and office -even if it’s small and out of his garage at his home – if the business isn’t paying the bills there is no point of being in business. For you people complaining about what he charges, wake up people. He was referred to us by the people that sold us the granite countertop. I myself has been paid in can goods, what do you do for a older man, women, couple on a fixxed income. That’s not included in the finish trim they have to do when the tile man finishes the shower!
As far as flat rate goes you can’t even tell their hourly rate cause it’s padded with worst case scenarios.

Buffett likes to use cornbread with a little sugar in it, often relying on a box mix. The best bread is an inexpensive white loaf from the grocery store that will break down into a smooth texture. Cover pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are almost translucent, 5 to 6 minutes. Continue to cook mixture for 1 more minute, then remove from heat, add to bread mixture, and stir to combine. Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Stir in mushrooms, cabbage and vinegar; increase heat to medium.

Remove vegetables from pan, season with salt and pepper to taste, and set aside. Gently roll out until it is large enough to fit a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate. Brush rim of bottom pastry with water and place second sheet of pastry directly on top. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the pie together and help the sheets of pastry adhere. He has a cooking and lifestyle empire, but his true love is heritage poultry. Heritage birds can be tricky to roast; the flesh is firmer than a supermarket bird. Roasted giblets and a chopped hard-boiled egg add texture and depth to his country-style gravy. Mix cider, salt, lemons, bay leaves and 3 quarts water together in a large bowl or stockpot; stir to dissolve salt. Alternatively, put turkey and brine in two clean, unscented plastic garbage bags (one bag inside the other), tie well and place in a cooler with ice or ice packs. Lift skin at neck and gently use your hand to separate skin from breast meat. Use remaining butter to rub outside of bird, then sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper. Midway through cooking time, remove giblets and neck and add wine and 1 cup water. Place roasting pan over low heat on the stovetop and add 21/2 cups stock.
You may wish to strain at this point to remove stray bits, but they add character to the finished gravy. Cut the crust off the bread and tear remaining loaf into 1-inch croutons. Transfer to oven and toast, tossing once or twice, until croutons are golden brown and crispy on the outside but still a little soft and tender inside, 12 to 15 minutes. Sauté, breaking up sausage with a wooden spoon, until browned and just cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes. Return the pot to medium heat and add 2 more tablespoons olive oil, the onions, the rosemary sprig, the thyme and the chile. Continue cooking another 3 to 4 minutes, stirring often, until onion is soft and starting to color slightly. Use tongs to turn the greens to coat them in oil and help them wilt and cook down.As soon as all the kale has wilted, transfer mixture to the bowl with the croutons and sausage. Boil until sherry is reduced by three-quarters, then add stock. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 more minutes, or until top is golden and crisp. That post-meal, late-night snacking has taken on a different kind of intensity now that the munchies are involved. The bite-size, bourbon-spiked pecan bars work on their own, too: no gravy or cannabis required. Toss quinces with half the maple syrup and spread in a single layer in a large baking pan. Fry bacon in a large sauté pan over medium heat until browned.Add onion, celery and bell pepper; sauté, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes. If dressing seems too dry, add a little oyster liquor and up to 1/2 cup more chicken broth; mixture should be very moist. Cut remaining 4 tablespoons butter into small pieces and scatter over top of dressing. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 7 minutes. Cover pan and cook 4 minutes; uncover, toss and cook 2 more minutes. Wipe out skillet, add olive oil and set over medium-high heat.
Cook salmon 5 minutes per side; remove to a plate and let cool. Transfer pastry to pie plate, allowing extra dough to drape over edge. Roll out remaining sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it is large enough to cover pie. Using kitchen scissors or a paring knife, trim off excess dough. Cut a few small slits in the top of the pie to allow steam to escape. Bake until pastry is puffed and golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. In a large saucepan, combine all the remaining ingredients with 1/4 cup water. He suggests a day in a brine sweetened with apple cider and then roasting the bird on a bed of rosemary. Submerge turkey in the bowl or pot, cover and refrigerate overnight or up to 24 hours. Stuff apple, onion, garlic and most of the thyme into turkey. Rub half the butter under skin and slip in remaining thyme and two rosemary sprigs. Set a rack into a roasting pan and place four rosemary sprigs on top of the rack. Fold the two together to create a single sheet to tent the bird. Roasting time will be 3 to 3 1/2 hours for an 18-pound bird.
Twenty minutes before roasting time is complete, begin to test for doneness with a digital probe thermometer inserted at the deepest part of the thigh. Add slurry to drippings, stirring constantly, until thickened. Place torn bread on a rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with 4 tablespoons olive oil, squeezing and tossing bread with your hands to help it absorb the oil. Transfer sausage to the bowl with the croutons using a slotted spoon. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of black pepper. Add half the kale and the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil to the pan. When there is room in the pan (from the greens wilting), add the rest of the kale and season with another 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper. Return pot to stove over high heat and carefully pour in sherry. Boil until mixture is reduced by half, then swirl in butter until melted. Add almonds and toss well to combine; using tongs or your hands, squeeze and massage the stuffing to integrate the flavors and make sure bread has really soaked in all the liquid. His recipe for sticky pecan pie bites dunked into leftover turkey gravy — an after-hours snack among chefs he knows — hits those notes perfectly. Form crust into a disk, wrap in plastic and chill for at least 30 minutes (or up to 3 days).
